ExtraEnergy.org, the leading electric transportation advocacy group the World, recently held a series of tests across a number of styles and categories of
electric bicycle.
With the testing completed, they handed out their 2010 Pedelec Awards at the Taipei International Cycle Show. Of the 8 “ExtraEnergy Pedelec Awards” handed out, 4 were given to bikes “powered by BionX” affirmation of their industry-leading position in supplying bicycle power management systems for original equipment and aftermarket use. BionX-equipped Pedelec bicycles won the categories of Dutch Pedelec, City Comfort Pedelec, Wellness Pedelec and Sport Pedelec.

Dutch Pedelec:
The Styriette powered by BionX is a winner with a difference. First, it won Dutch Pedelec category without ever having seen the sea! The concept of the Styriette, built by Magna Marque, actually hails from the mountainous Steiermark region in Austria. Second, the Styriette passed the test with flying colors, after having missed the ergonomic leg of the test. The prototype couldn’t be completed on time, but it impressed us with its design, performance and quality. High-quality components and construction clearly aimed at giving the bike a long life, like the enclosed chain case, give the Styriette that original Dutch-robust touch. The stable running characteristics and reliable, extremely strong and new BionX IGH3 (Integrated Gear Hub 3 speeds) motor generator rounds off the picture of the Styriette as winner of the Dutch Pedelec for 2010.
City Comfort Pedelec:
With its modern, sporty look, the Delite powered by BionX and built Riese und Müller, satisfies all the extrinsic demands of the style-conscious city dweller while the Delite’s fittings and electric intrinsic keep the city dweller mobile in the most modern way.
